A final audition for the Drama Circle’s World Premier of "Lincoln: the Musical" by Michael P. Riccards will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 between 2:00 and 5:00 PM at The Dance Studio, 5 South Main Street in Orange, Massachusetts.  Along with the main characters, the script calls for a chorus to include all ages, soldiers, Lincoln's secretary and assistant John Nicolay and John Hay as well as the antagonist, the 26 year old brilliant actor who became notorious as Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth.   

Musicians are also needed for the production. Scripts are available for review in libraries in the towns of Orange as well as Athol, Barre, Gardner, Greenfield, New Salem and Petersham.  The music for "Lincoln: The Musical" is from the Civil War era.  

Genevieve Fraser, the artistic director of the Drama Circle will serve as the producer/director.  Tim Waite is the assistant director. 
The Drama Circle is open to the public free of charge and is sponsored by the performing arts division of the non-profit organization, Art for Life.  


“Lincoln: The Musical” will be performed on the weekends following the 4th of July 2012.  The production will be staged at the Orange Town Hall, 6 Prospect Street in Orange, MA as part of commemorative activities honoring the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.  The production is funded, in part, by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.  

Organizations, businesses or individuals wishing to help sponsor the play or other 150th Anniversary Civil War commemorative activities which will be held on or around the 4th of July should make tax deductible donations out to "CF Pals - Drama Circle," 1 South Main Street, Orange, MA 10364.  In-kind donations are also gratefully accepted.  For further information, contact Genevieve Fraser at 978-544-1872.

Auditions for the Drama Circle’s World Premier of "Lincoln: the Musical" by Michael P. Riccards will be held on Saturdays, January 14 and 21, 2012 between 2:00 and 5:00 PM at The Dance Studio, 5 South Main Street in Orange, Massachusetts.  Genevieve Fraser, the artistic director of the Drama Circle will serve as the producer/director.  Tim Waite is the assistant director. 
The Drama Circle is open to the public free of charge and is sponsored by the performing arts division of the non-profit organization, Art for Life.  

Along with Abraham Lincoln, Mary Todd Lincoln and their 12 year old son, Willie Lincoln, there are over a dozen parts as well as extras who serve as soldiers, townspeople, members of congress and the President’s cabinet.  Singers and musicians are also needed for the production. Scripts are available for review in libraries in the towns of Orange as well as Athol, Barre, Gardner, Greenfield, New Salem and Petersham.  The music for "Lincoln: The Musical" is from the Civil War era.  

“Lincoln: The Musical” will be performed during the weekend prior to the 4th of July 2012, which falls on a Wednesday, and the weekend following the July 4th holiday.  The production will be staged at the Orange Town Hall, 6 Prospect Street in Orange, MA as part of commemorative activities honoring the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.
