"Seedlings" presented in Groton MA on Saturday November 19

A reading of Seedlings, a play in two acts by Victoria Graw will be presented on Saturday, November 19 at The Parish House at the first Parish Church of Groton, Unitarian Universalist, #1 Powderhouse Road, Groton, MA .

According to the playwright, "Seedlings is the story of a young child, Sarah, whose life, through the complexities of the power struggle between the village Priest and the local wise woman, changes over one long day of chaos."
"With villagers acting as a chorus, the play plows its bawdy way through mad scenes, a stoning and a small fire," Graw explained.    "The three simple sets are taken from the early part of the old country during a time when woman were victims of their own knowledge.  It is accompanied by both prologue and epilogue narrated by an older Sarah and younger brother Thomas that sort out additional details."

The cast includes Julie Beauchem, Genevieve Fraser, Vicki Graw, Eleanor Bond, Henry Bachteler, Rocky Sandy, Charline Driscoll, Suzanne Nelson, Sarah Iacobucci and Shirley Man.  The reading is directed by Victoria Graw and co-produced by Suzanne Nelson and Rocky Sandy.

Victoria Graw has plans to convert the play into an opera.  Ms. Graw is a member of the Drama Circle which is open to the public free of charge and is sponsored by the performing arts division of the non-profit organization, Art for Life.  Readings are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month.  If you are an actor or interested in participating in a reading or having an original play or screenplay read, please contact the artistic director Genevieve Fraser at Tel. (978) 544-1872, or email: FraserGenevieve@gmail.com.  For further information, see the website: http://www.thedramacircle.blogspot.com
